Game Week 8 of the English Premier League – we have selected the top performing players in our English Premier League Team of the Week.

Goal Keeper:  Kepa Arrizabalaga – Chelsea

  • Kepa Arrizabalaga made six saves with two of them proving crucial form long range shots against Southampton. The Basque-born shot-stopper has now kept four clean sheets in the league. 

Centre Back: Davinson Sanchez – Tottenham

  • Sanchez provided an assist for teammate for Eric Dier and kept a clean sheet against a ten man Cardiff at Wembley.

Centre Back: Dejan Lovren – Liverpool

  • Lovren was influential in the management of his defence amid his return back to the Premier League – as his team carved out a point against Manchester City following Riyad Mahrez’s missed a penalty in the 86th minute. 

Right Back: Matt Doherty – Wolves 

  • Doherty found the net against Crystal Palace away from home when he in the 55th minute as his Wolverhampton Wanderers side claimed their fourth win of the campaign. He was also influential in the defensive effort that kept Palace at bay.

Central Midfielder: Ross Barkley – Chelsea

  • The former Everton man is really finding his feet under Mauricio Sarri. Barkley was directly involved in two goals, finding the net himself after teeing up Eden Hazard for the game’s opener.

Left Mid: Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal

  • Aaron Ramsey’s performance showed the Arsenal board just what they’ll be missing out on if they allow him to leave for free in the summer. The Welsh international scored an audacious back-heel as well as provided an assist late on in the piece for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as Arsenal ran out 5-1 victors at Craven Cottage.

Right Wing: Eden Hazard – Chelsea

  • Hazard is playing football from a different planet at the moment. He’s easily the best player in the league at the minute and further underlined this credentials with yet another goal as he grabbed the opener in a 3-0 win over Southampton.

Left Wing: Joshua King – Bournemouth

  • King scored twice for his side in the first half as Bournemouth rattled Watford 4-0 at home. Watford did have a man sent off during their match.

Forward: Callum Wilson – Bournemouth 

  • Callum Wilson created two assists and scored a goal as Bournemouth hammered 10-man Watford at Vicarage Road.
Forward: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Arsenal
  • Aubameyang came on in the 62nd minute to score a brace and provide an assist as Arsenal thumped Fulham 5-1. 
Forward: Alexandre Lacazette – Arsenal

  • Lacazette has been brilliant so far this season, and his stock continued to rise as Arsenal travelled to Fulham. The Frenchman opened the scoring with a low drive to the near post before a ranged effort just after the break.

Goal of the Week

  • Aaron Ramsey’s left foot flick is the goal of the week.
