EPL: Week 32 Preview

EPL-round-32-preview

Our footy scribe previews round 32 of the 2016/17 English Premier League campaign.

The end is near! Just seven rounds of football remain, yet week in and week out, we are treated to heart-pumping goal fests English Premier League action. The Top four is still wide open, while Chelsea look likely to wrap up the league sooner rather than later.

The relegation battle is one that will go down to the wire. Any team under 40 points have a realistic chance of facing the drop down to the Championship, so over the next few weeks expect cagey and heated affairs. That’s enough catch-up talk for now, let’s find out what’s brewing in round 32.

Saturday 8 April

Tottenham 1/4 | Draw 9/2 | Watford 10/1
Tottenham return to their fortress on Saturday, where they remain unbeaten with 13 wins and two draws from 15 games, scoring 35 goals and conceding just eight times. Spurs have won their last five matches on the spin and will have plenty of confidence coming into this game.

Watford have been impressive of late with back-to-back wins. However, the Hornets have lost two matches on the road on the bounce. They should prove solid first half, but Tottenham will eventually break the deadlock. Back home side on the Halftime/Fulltime market – Draw/Tottenham – at 26/10.

Middlesbrough 27/20 | Draw 2/1 | Burley 43/20
Middlesbrough are on a downward spiral and desperately need to wrestle their way out of the drop zone before it’s too late. The Boro are without a win in their last six matches in all competitions, suffering five defeats in the process.

After eight games without a win, Burnley earned themselves a hard-fought 1-0 home victory against Stoke on Tuesday night. Nonetheless, it doesn’t change the fact that they are the only team without a win on the road. In a game that can go either way, it’s best not to pick a winner, so I will advise you to get on the Totals market – Under 2.5 Goals – at 5/10. After all, five of the last six meetings between the sides have gone that way.

West Ham 21/20 | Draw 5/2 | Swansea 47/20
Up next, West Ham will take on relegation-threatened Swansea. The Hammers have been dismal with three consecutive losses, including a 3-0 defeat at Arsenal last time out. West Ham have lost back-to-back home games and need to turn that form around.

Swansea are without a win in their last four matches, including three losses. The Welsh-based club have lost 11 of their 15 travels with four defeats on the trot. An end-to-end attacking game of football is on the cards with Both Teams Tipped To Score at 13/20.

Stoke 29/10 | Draw 51/20 | Liverpool 17/20
Liverpool will take on a wounded Stoke side on Saturday afternoon. The hosts have lost their last three matches, scoring just once while conceding five times. On the other hand, Liverpool are unbeaten in their last five matches and will look to maintain that form.

The last two meetings between the sides produced two 4-1 victories for Liverpool at Anfield. Although we the game is being play at Bet365 Stadium, I still feel there will be goes galore. Get on the Over 2.5 Goals at 8/10.

West Brom 39/20 | Draw 43/20 | Southampton 14/10
West Brom and Southampton will square off in what looks like it could be a heated contest. The Baggies will look to capitalise on home advantage, just as they have done all season. They have won four of their last five games on their ground and will be determined to add to that.

Southampton come to town off the back of a 3-1 home win over Crystal Palace. However, their away form has been terrible this season and the Saints will need to be raise their game at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon. Another difficult game to call, so play it safe and take Over 2.5 goals at 23/20.

Manchester City 2/11 | Draw 57/10 | Hull 25/2
Manchester City will look to end a run of four games without a win, including a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Chelsea last time out. Hull will look to take advantage of Man City’s vulnerability and they are in the perfect form to do so.

The Tigers have won three of their last four matches, including back-to-back games. In four of their last five games they have found the back of the net, so back Both Teams To Score at even money.

Bournemouth 9/2 | Draw 29/10 | Chelsea 11/20
Bournemouth and Chelsea will close off Saturday’s English Premier League action. The Cherries are unbeaten in their last five league games with a well-deserved 2-2 draw at Liverpool last time out.

Chelsea may have fell to a 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace last weekend but they returned to winning ways with a 2-1 home win against title-rivals Manchester City on Wednesday evening. Chelsea’s minor setback hasn’t caused the team to derail and I think they should do enough to edge Bournemouth.

Sunday 9 April

Sunderland 15/2 | Draw 39/10 | Manchester United 3/10
Sunderland will be dead and buried with no way out if things don’t change soon. The Black Cats have lost four of their last five matches and face a stern test against Manchester United, who are unbeaten in their last 20 matches.

The Red Devils haven’t been at their prolific best but they have done well away from home. Back the away team on the Halftime/Fulltime win at 17/20.

Everton 7/10 | Draw 26/10 | Leicester 15/4
Everton showed solidity and organisation against Man United last time out, earning a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford. The Toffees will return to their ground where they have won their last six home games, scoring 22 goals and conceding just three times.

Leicester, along with Tottenham, are in top form with five wins on the spin. The Foxes edged Everton 2-1 in the FA Cup earlier this season and another cracker of a match is expected. With Leicester being the form team here, I’m backing the Totals Away Team market – Over 0.5 Goals – at 5/10.

Monday 10 April

Crystal Palace 31/10 | Draw 11/4 | Arsenal 8/10
Crystal Palace fell to a 3-1 defeat away to Southampton on Wednesday but prior to that loss, the Eagles were on a four-match winning streak. After thrashing fellow Londoners West Ham 3-0, Arsenal will travel to cross-town rivals Crystal Palace.

The Gunners are nipping at the heels of Man City and Man United and will be determined to build on their midweek victory. Arsenal are unbeaten in the last 12 meetings against Crystal Palace with nine wins. The away win is tipped confidently.
