Premier League

The midweek round of fixtures was one for the history books. Liverpool put 2 past Arsenal which ended the Gunners’ five-match league winning streak. The Merseyside club came into that one off the back of eight-straight wins themselves, meaning that it was only the 3rd time in the competition’s history that 2 sides squared off whilst they both are on respective 5+ winning runs.

Harry Kane’s midweek strike means that he’s scored 95 goals in 139 away Premier League appearances, becoming the competition’s all-time top scorer in away games.

Alex Iwobi’s winning goal for Everton was the second latest Premier League winning goal in the Premier League since record-keeping started, scored at 98 minutes and 19 seconds.

Ramsdale looking to rediscover early-season form

After keeping three clean sheets in his first four league outings, Aaron Ramsdale has kept just one in his previous five. The shot stopper will need to replicate his early season heroics as Arsenal push for a top four finish, come the end of the season. Arteta has found the recipe for success as the Gunners had won five consecutive Premier League fixtures before their midweek defeat at the hands of Liverpool – a feat only Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea have managed, from all top flight clubs.

Unlucky Raphina

After a run of six straight league losses, wherein they failed to score in five of those fixtures, Leeds picked up all 3 points last time out. Their poor run of form in front of goal hasn’t been from a lack of effort. Raphinha has hit the woodwork 3 times in his previous 4 league appearances and could find the back of the net, albeit with a bit of luck, in this one. He will have his work cut out for him as he comes up against a Wolves team that has kept back to back league clean sheets for the first time since the turn of the year.

Hammers strong away record

West ham have conceded 10 league goals in the final 10 minutes of play, only Watford and Norwich (level on 12) have conceded more in this time frame. Despite this, the Hammers boast an incredibly strong away record. The club has conceded just 16 league goals on their travels this season – only Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Wolves have conceded fewer on the road.

Wolves must find home form

Wolves have registered 21 points since the start of the year – only Liverpool (28) have registered more. They will need to take their rich vein of form to the Molineux Stadium tonight, which has not been a happy hunting ground for the club of late. Wolves have failed to score in five of their previous eight home league fixtures.

Spurs shoring up

With his attackers firing at will, Antonio Conte will set his sights on tightening up the Spurs defence as he looks to maintain the pressure on the top four over the coming weeks. Tottenham have already recorded 11 shutouts this campaign – only Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal have kept more in the competition this season. They have kept 3 of those clean sheets in their previous 4 league outings but face a West Ham side that have only been outscored by the current top 3.
