The England international, who has played every Premier League game for the Gunners in the past two campaigns, recently turned 22 and has amassed almost 200 senior appearances for the club.

However, the forward has been nursing a problem for some time now, and manager Mikel Arteta will need to decide whether to risk Saka’s fitness with a challenging schedule ahead.

The Mail reported that Saka was omitted from the starting lineup against Scotland this week not just for rotation purposes, but because he is struggling with an Achilles issue.

Arsenal have Everton away this weekend, followed by a return to the Champions League at home to PSV next Wednesday. They then face Tottenham in the North London Derby, Brentford in the League Cup third round, and Manchester City and Chelsea in October.

Saka could be rested for some of the more winnable fixtures, especially in the League Cup. However, with Arsenal lacking a like-for-like replacement for the winger, Arteta will have to decide whether to persist with him for the next few weeks or rotate with players such as Reiss Nelson.

Other options on the right wing include Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard, Kai Havertz, and Fabio Vieira.
