Leicester City manager Dean Smith says his side will be completely focussed on their own result when they host West Ham in their final game of the season on Sunday afternoon.
With the final round of Premier League fixtures all scheduled for 5:30pm on Sunday afternoon, the big talking point is which teams will be relegated.
Southampton are already going down to the Championship, leaving two more places for relegation and three teams who could go down. Two of Everton, Leicester and Leeds will be playing a division lower next season, while one of them will survive. It is shaping up to be an intriguing afternoon.
Everton are in the best position of the three with 33 league points. Leicester and Leeds each come into the final day with 31. The permutations are many and complicated.
The easiest situation is for Everton. If they win they are safe. But if Everton draw and Leicester win, then The Foxes’ superior goal difference will see them safe.
Commenting on the situation Smith said: “We have to win the game and not look at the Everton result until after the game.
“We have to do our job and see where it takes us.
If we do our part we are looking at other people to help us, but we have to make sure we concentrate on what we do.”
The only way Leeds can survive is to win and hope that the others lose. Sam Allardyce’s side have the worst goal difference of the three teams – although they a win by four goals or more could change this.
