Alexis Mac Allister stepped up to the spot to score the winner deep into stoppage time as Brighton and Hove Albion claimed a dramatic 1-0 victory over Manchester United at the American Express Stadium last night.
The win was doubly sweet for the hosts after having lost out in a penalty shootout to Erik ten Hag’s men in the semi-finals of the FA Cup less than a fortnight ago.
The victory bumps the Seagulls up to sixth with 55-points, now just four off fifth-placed Liverpool with two games in hand.
