Forest suffered a 2-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park after goals by Idrissa Gueye and Dwight McNeil and find themselves in relegation trouble with just one point away from the relegation zone in 17th position in the standings.

The club lambasted the match officials after the final whistle in an incredible post on X, formerly Twitter.

“Three extremely poor decisions – three penalties not given – which we simply cannot accept,” the club posted to its more than 660 000 followers.

“We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a Luton fan before the game but they didn’t change him. Our patience has been tested multiple times.

“NFFC will now consider its options.”

Pundits, including Sky Sports football personality Jamie Carragher, hit out at the post calling it an embarrassment.

Former Liverpool player and pundit Stan Collymore also hit out at the club’s reaction.

“We’ve now entered the stage where official club media channels are tweeting like fan channels,” Collymore said.

“We have chairmen, secretaries and directors for official complaints. Grand clubs emoting and shooting from the hip is self sabotaging and helps no meritous argument.

“Sorry, it’s the truth.”

The Football Association have also confirmed that they will investigate the Forest social media post as it calls into question the integrity of the game.
