Soccer player acrobatically volleys the ball

Gameweek four of the 2019/20 German Bundesliga kicks off on Friday 13 September 2019. Check out our full betting preview below.

Round four of the German Bundesliga kicks off with Leipzig leading at the summit! Bayern Munich are just two points off the pace and to make things more interesting, the pair will lock horns on Saturday evening. But enough about that, we have nine cracking fixtures to get to this weekend, so let’s get to it!

Friday 13 September

Dusseldorf 21/10
Draw 26/10
Wolfsburg 12/10

Dusseldorf made a bright start to the 2019/20 season but have since slacked off with back-to-back defeats against Bayer Leverkusen (1-3) and Eintracht Frankfurt (2-1). Wolfsburg remain unbeaten but were disappointing last time out as newcomers Paderborn held them to a 1-1 draw on home soil.

Following the international break, the hosts will be desperate to climb out of the slump they find themselves in, while the Wolves will be looking to maintain their excellent start. Both Teams to Score – Yes – is tipped at 11/20.

Saturday 15 September

Augsburg 47/20
Draw 26/10
Eintracht Frankfurt 21/20

Augsburg remain winless after three matches, scoring four goals and conceding nine times. Eintracht Frankfurt have won two of their three matches and will be hoping to add to that. This clash is likely to start cagey but as the game progresses, the Eagles are expected to dominate.

Eintracht Frankfurt won this meeting 3-1 last season and are tipped to get the win at Augsburg Arena on Saturday. The away win is tipped.

Union Berlin 7/4
Draw 5/2
Werder Bremen 29/20

Union Berlin did the unexpected last time out and upset the applecart with a 3-1 home win over Borussia Dortmund. Werder Bremen ended a run of two defeats in a row with a hard-fought 3-2 victory at home against Augsburg.

Both sides have plenty of goals in them by the looks of things, so we might be in for a high-scoring affair. The Totals – Over 2.5 – goals market is tipped at 13/20.

Cologne 16/10
Draw 51/20
Monchengladbach 31/20

Cologne earned their first win of the season last time out with a narrow 2-1 victory away to Freiburg. Monchengladbach have lacked consistency but that always seems to be the case with them.

The Borussians were beaten 3-1 at home last weekend against Leipzig but prior to that, they had won by the same scoreline at Mainz. They have enough firepower in them and I’m backing them to claim all three points in a match that is expected to go down to the wire.

Dortmund 15/20
Draw 32/10
Bayer Leverkusen 29/10

Dortmund would have had enough time to get over their humiliating 3-1 thrashing at Union Berlin before the break and will be eager to get back to their best. Bayer Leverkusen remain unbeaten but for some reason, they have not convinced me despite winning two of their three games.

BVB have won the last four meetings at Signal Iduna Park against Leverkusen, scoring 16 goals and conceding just four times. Back the Back and Yellow Army to return to winning ways.

Mainz 27/20
Draw 24/10
Hertha Berlin 39/20

Mainz and Hertha Berlin will square off in a bottom of the table clash! The hosts have lost all three of their matches, scoring twice and conceding a colossal 12 times, while Hertha Berlin have suffered consecutive defeats after opening their account with an excellent 2-2 draw at Bayern Munich.

Both teams have been leaking goals and are likely to work on their defending and solidity as a team during the break. A low-scoring matchup is on the cards and the Totals – Under 2.5 – goals market should be backed at even money.

Leipzig 11/4
Draw 3/1
Bayern Munich 17/20

The match of the weekend will see current log-leaders Leipzig take on defending champions Bayern Munich. The Red Bulls are the only team in the league to have won all three of their games and will be confident coming into this contest.

Bayern Munich have won back-to-back matches, scoring nine goals and conceding just once. This one can go either way but I’m leaning towards Leipzig. It’s still early days but the Red Bulls look as genuine as ever as they challenge the Bavarians for the title. Leipzig are tipped on the win/draw Double Chance at 9/10.

Sunday 15 September

Hoffenheim 13/20
Draw 32/10
Freiburg 34/10

Sunday’s fixture-list begins with Hoffenheim and Freiburg locking horns at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena. The hosts have made a stuttering start but there is plenty of potential in their performances. Freiburg started the season with consecutive wins before going down 2-1 to Cologne on home soil.

Hoffenheim claimed the double over Freiburg last season, winning 3-1 at home before ousting them 4-2 on the road. The home win looks well worth a punt.

Paderborn 19/10
Draw 26/10
Schalke 5/4

New boys on the block, Paderborn, are yet to win a match this season but did well to earn a 1-1 draw at Wolfsburg last time out. Schalke earned their first victory of the season before the international break after hammering Hertha Berlin 3-0.

Schalke have won all four of their previous meetings and are expected to make it five on the trot. Take the Royal Blues to come away with maximum points.

TREBLE TIPPED @ 5/1
Dortmund Win 15/20
Mainz vs Hertha Berlin Under 2.5 Goals 1/1
Hoffenheim Win 13/20
