The action is set to continue in the Hollywoodbets Super League with Mamelodi Sundowns leading the way on 22 points. The Brazilians have a pack of five teams that can realistically catch them this season.

UJ Ladies will have their chance to take on Masandawana, while UWC Ladies take aim at Ma Indies Ladies with a fifth straight win in their sights.

Elsewhere, Durban Ladies seek to build on their recent momentum when they lock horns with Golden Ladies.

Saturday 26 June

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies 1/5
Draw 5/1
UJ Ladies 8/1
(15:00)

The defending champions got back to winning ways last weekend, thrashing Coal City Wizards 5-0 in Witbank after the Brazilians were given a run for their money in the 2-2 draw with JVW Girls a few weeks ago.

After the clash with Coal City Wizards, Sundowns striker Lelona Daweti said, “We were quite hungry for this game, we had to push our game and we were quite worried we didn’t play last weekend so we thought it’s going to affect us in this game, but they didn’t come at us, they were sitting at the back, so when we got chances, we converted all our goals.”

UJ Ladies, on the other hand, created numerous opportunities but couldn’t find the back of the net in the narrow 1-0 defeat to Thunderbirds Ladies at the Soweto Campus in last Saturday’s televised game.

Coach Kgabo Ditsebe’s Orange Army have now lost three straight games by the same scoreline that’s seen them drop to ninth in the standings and will be desperate for a strong showing against the Brazilians.

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies should be the first team on your bet slip this weekend.
Ma Indies Ladies 3/1
Draw 22/10
UWC Ladies 8/10
(15:00)

Ma Indies Ladies will have their work cut out when title-chasing UWC Ladies make an almost 2000km journey from the Mother City to Giyani. The Limpopo-based outfit will need all the advantage they can get on home soil against a quality team.

The hosts have been blowing hot and cold. One week they perform but then find it difficult to replicate the performances to achieve consistency. A 3-0 win over Richmond United was followed by a 3-2 loss to Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies, then a 4-0 victory against Golden Ladies was followed by last weekend’s 5-1 humbling away at Durban Ladies.

UWC Ladies are in fine form, claiming a fourth win on the trot. Impressively goalkeeper Regirl Ngobeni, who was recently called up for Banyana Banyana duty hasn’t conceded in a month of Super League football.

Following the successful visit to Richmond United, coach Thinasonke Mbuli said, “The performance was excellent and deserved more goals, I felt we were in control, created chances, we hit the post four times but failed to convert – but we are happy with the three points, a win is a win.”

On current form, UWC Ladies is my best bet at 8/10.

Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies 13/10
Draw 2/1
First Touch FC 19/10
(15:00)

Two points separate Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies and First Touch FC on the log, with the visitors having a game in hand due to their recent game with Sundowns being postponed.

First Touch FC will be high on confidence after beating JVW Girls 2-1, against the odds in arguably their best performance of the 2021/22 season at the Seshego Stadium in Polokwane.

Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies claimed their sixth win in seven games, running riot in a 4-1 win over Golden Ladies away at the North West University’s Mafikeng Campus.

Siwelele midfielder Kgaelebane Mohlakoana was called up for national duty and will be looking to teammates Martha Mahlaola and Nicole Michael, both of whom scored two goals each last week to help inspire Phunya Sele Sele to yet another victory.

Bloemfontein Celtic have been consistent and I don’t see them dropping points at the Tsakani Stadium.

Richmond United 3/1
Draw 22/10
TUT Ladies 8/10
(15:00)

Richmond United play host to in-form TUT Ladies at the Mziwabantu Stadium and come into the clash as underdogs, priced at 3/1 to claim maximum points. The Ladies from the Northern Cape are sliding down the table in 11th position after losing four of the last five league games and desperately need to show some fight.

TUT Ladies schooled Tsunami Queens in an 8-0 thrashing at the TUT Stadium in Tshwane with defender Tiisetso Makhubela scoring her fifth goal of the season, which will surely put a smile on her coach Anna Monate’s face.

Makhubela is part of the Banyana Banyana camp that will take on the Netherlands and will serve as a great example to her younger teammates who also aspire to reach the level of international football and pull on the green and gold jersey with pride.

Unfortunately, for Richmond United, I can only see Anna Monate’s red brigade add to their woes and continue building on their momentum.

Thunderbirds Ladies 13/10
Draw 2/1
Tsunami Queens 19/10
(15:00)

Thunderbirds Ladies earned their second win of the campaign, edging out UJ Ladies in a hard-fought and cagey game that was decided by a goal against the run of play.

UJ Ladies kept piling on the pressure with wave after wave of attack but Thunderbirds chose their moments to break into the opposition’s box wisely and converted the best opportunity presented to them, just minutes before the half-time whistle.

Both of Thunderbirds’ victories this season have seen Phillisa Mjambane claim the Player of the Match award. Mjambane’s leadership qualities are desperately needed to continue with their rise up the log standings.

Personally, I could only describe her hunger, professional attitude and competitiveness to win football matches as infectious. It’s no surprise she captains coach Thembalethu Alpeni’s team.

Tsunami Queens announced their new sponsor last Monday and will now target a strong display on the field after last week’s 8-0 defeat mathematically gave them the unwanted tag of being the club with the leakiest defence in the league.

With the visitors in dreadful form of four losses in five games, my money is firmly on Thunderbirds Ladies at 13/10.

Golden Ladies 31/20
Draw 2/1
Durban Ladies 31/20
(15:00)

Durban Ladies are aiming for their third straight victory when they lock horns with Golden Ladies in Mafikeng. The Chatsworth stadium was treated to six goals last week, with the eThekwini-based outfit scoring five in a single game for the first time this season.

Very encouraging signs for lovers of the beautiful game that want KZN footballers to succeed, Durban Ladies moved off the foot of the table with the 5-1 win over Ma-Indies, and scoring 12 goals in their last five matches is a definite sign of improvement.

Golden Ladies now find themselves rock bottom, however, coach Fani Motaung will keep his cool and remind his players to focus on the basics and the rest will fall in place.

It will be exciting contest when these two sides meet at the Montshioa Stadium to slug it out for bragging rights but if you had to ask, how do we make money?

I’d say back Durban Ladies to make it three wins in a row.

TREBLE @ 4/1
UWC Ladies Win 8/10
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies Win 1/5
Bloem Celtic Ladies Win 13/10
