Bafana’s intention is to dim the Bright Stars on Tuesday afternoon at the Juba Stadium where South Africa look to redeem themselves following a careless 2-2 draw against Uganda.

Bafana’s limp start

South Africa’s 2-2 draw against Uganda was not the desired start in their bid to qualify for the 2025 AFCON as Broos clearly set out a mandate to collect maximum points in their two games.

That was not the case as South Africa launched a late comeback to save the day against The Cranes.

Thanks to Thalente Mbatha, who cleaned up the mess made by Veli Mothwa’s butter hands – Bafana walked away with a point, much to the relief of those who attended the game at the Orlando Stadium.

How to watch

The tie will be aired live through various SABC platforms; television, radio stations and the SABC app.

Betting odds

After the 2-2 draw, South Sudan will be optimistic about their chances against Mzansi, but Broos’ team should be motivated to collect maximum points and put themselves in a better position. You can place your bet on this game here.

South Africa will be hosted at the newly constructed arena which was launched in June this year when South Sudan played Sudan in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

The reconstruction of the stadium cost about USD 5 million and was officially unveiled by state president Salva Kiir Mayardit. The artificial turf is an intimate 10,000 seater.

Players to watch

Relebohile Mofokeng

Young sensation Relebohile Mofokeng began the Uganda tie on the bench, but when he was launched around the 75th minute, the Orlando Pirates star made his presence felt.

Broos hinted he will effect several changes, and Mofokeng might be one of those who are likely to get a starting berth.

Captain Themba Zwane also had an outstanding performance against The Cranes, excelling in his free role, as it has often been the case in Bafana colours.

‘Mshishi’, as skipper, is the paper on which Broos writes his starting line-up, and the Mamelodi Sundowns man is expected to dazzle and be at the forefront of South Africa’s creativity.
