This follows after the Belgian manager had initially named a 50-man preliminary squad earlier in December.

To no surprise to many, Lyle Foster has been left out of the squad as issues of mental health challenges have been the reason for the coach to leave out the Burnely attacker.

Foster took a month-long mental health break after the club announced that he was receiving special care for his mental health challenges.

As you’d expect, there is a large crop of DStv Premiership pacesetters, Mamelodi Sundowns, in the side with Broos naming 10 Masandawana players in his squad.

There are only three overseas players that have selected for the team in the form of Percy Tau (Al Ahly), Mihlali Mayambela (Aris Limassol) and Sphephelo Sithole (Tondela FC).

Bafana Bafana is in Group E and will play against Mali, Namibia and Tunisia. They open their campaign against Mali in Korhogo on 16 January 2024.

There are three players on standby in the likely case the squad gets injuries or is unable to participate in the tournament for whatever reasons.

These three players are, Sibongiseni Mthethwa (Kaizer Chiefs), Elias Mokwana (Sekhukhune United) and Thapelo Xoki (Pirates).
