Qatar’s goal came in the 19th minute off the foot of Yusuf Abdurisag, who recovered a loose ball in the box with the goalkeeper out of position and connected in the top right corner. Despite a promising performance, losing 2-1 could impact the rest of the tournament. A draw is a safer play here.

Despite Frantzdy Pierrot’s 97th minute goal to propel Haiti to a dramatic 2-1 victory over Qatar in Group B, Mexico should be considered a banker here after a convincing 4-0 victory to open their Gold Cup campaign.

El Salvador proved they are a side who are as well disciplined and compact off the ball as anyone in CONCACAF. While prior to the start of the Gold Cup, Costa Rica have conceded first in every one of their encounters this year. Back both teams to score here.

For the first time since 2019, Cuba have made it into the group stage of the Gold Cup, and to progress, they must defeat Guadeloupe. Guadeloupe, on the other hand, have qualified for the last two editions, but have only made it beyond the group stage of this tournament twice in 2009 and 2007. The draw seems probable.

It has been over 23 years since the Canadian men came away with some silverware, capturing the 2000 edition of the Gold Cup. Regardless of the result, Canada proved again that the trajectory of their national football team is promising. It is likely the Canucks steamroll Guatemala.

It wasn’t pretty, but it was never going to be. United States substitute Brandon Vazquez netted a late equalizer that helped secure a point against Jamaica in a 1-1 draw. If the USA are to live up to their “favourites” tag, defeating Trinidad and Tobago is a must. Back the home side.
