However, the experienced Belgian tactician aims to hold a meeting with both the Burnley striker and club coach Vincent Kompany to iron out any differences before the player’s imminent return.

Foster hasn’t been part of Bafana setup since November after he revealed that he was struggling with mental health issues before being placed in the care of specialists.

The Johannesburg-born star was also said to be not fit enough to join Bafana for the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) campaign in Ivory Coast early this year.

But the striker then featured for the relegation-threatened Clarets in the English Premier League during the continental showpiece that raised many questions and confusion.

After sitting out of the few Burnley matches, Foster made a return this past weekend when the Clarets picked a crucial 2-1 victory over Brentford, playing off the bench.

“I saw that he played I think 10 minutes during the Saturday game. That means his injury problems are over,” Broos told media from Algeria where his men will play two matches in the Fifa Series.

“I will try to have contact in the next days or week with Kompany and maybe when I’m in Belgium I can go and see a game of Burnley.

“And also, to talk to Foster and talk to Kompany and see what we can expect in the future from him, certainly looking at the games in June.”

Broos and Kompany share a long history as Broos introduced the former Manchester City star to professional football when handing him his debut as a 17-year-old at Anderlecht in 2003.

Broos didn’t include the striker for the matches against Andorra and Algeria as Foster was still recovering from an injury.

Bafana will play their first game against 164th-ranked Andorra at the 19 May 1956 Stadium on Thursday at 23:00, SA time.

South Africa will face off with host Algeria at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers on Tuesday, 23:00 before returning home on the next day.
