Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos admits he is worried about the form of Al Ahly striker Percy Tau.
Tau has been included in Broos’ Bafana squad for the upcoming international friendlies against France and Guinea.
The 27-year-old has played five games for Ahly since returning from an injury he sustained in January but has failed to impress.
And Broos is concerned about Tau’s below-par performances, considering how important he is to the national team.
“Percy has a little problem at the moment. He is not the Percy Tau that we are used to seeing,” Broos said, as per FarPost.
“I know him very well from Belgium. Before Christmas, he had a few injuries, and he didn’t play for weeks, so I thought that might be the problem. Because he didn’t have the tempo of the games, but now I saw him play on Saturday (for Al Ahly).
“He is not Percy Tau. So I don’t know what is happening with him. But I will talk to him. I have to know (the problem) because he can help us a lot with his talent. He can help us a lot, but we need the best Percy Tau.”
