Brazilian soccer player Dani Alves will face trial over an alleged sexual assault at a Barcelona nightclub in December 2022.
Reuters reports that Alves has been in custody in Barcelona since his arrest in January.
The 40-year-old first said he did not know the accuser but then said that they had consensual sex.
Alves has a total of 43 major silverware trophies in his cabinet during success-laden spells in Spain, Italy and France and is the most decorated player in recent history.
