The South Africans took a surprise lead on eight minutes at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium through a deadly Lyle Foster strike.

But the home team were always threatening and finally scored at a crucial time in the match, just five minutes into the second half through Youssef En-Nesyri.

Ayoub El Kaabi then made the most of some loose defending as he volleyed home an 87th minute winner.

Speaking after the game, Broos said on FARPost: “I was not disappointed about the performance, we fought for it we played against a strong Moroccan team.

“That was good, we know what to do in September, it showed we can do it in September twice hopefully with two victories.”

Broos added: “I thought we could win then after the goal we received I was happy with one point.

“If you get a second goal towards the end it’s so disappointing. We were waiting till the ball was out, the ball stayed in then we lose the ball, after that it was 2-1.”
