Mosimane left Sundowns in 2020 after a very successful trophy-laden time at the club to join Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

The relationship between Mosimane and Motsepe has not always been rosy and when he left Sundowns he was made to pay back the R8 million signing-on bonus after renewing his contract before suddenly leaving to move to Egypt.

But despite what happened in the past, Motsepe appears to still be a huge fan of the 57-year-old Mosimane.

He is my favourite,” Motsepe said, when asked in an interview.

“I love Pitso. I will always love Pitso.

“He has a special place in my heart. I wish him well. I wish that he could become the head coach of Bafana Bafana again one day. I would even get the Motsepe Foundation to subsidise his salary.

“I think he is a quality coach, and quality should not come cheap.”

Mosimane recently parted ways with Al Ahly after losing in the final of this years CAF Champions League. Media reports doing the rounds have suggested he could be looking for a coaching role in Europe if possible.
