NEWS: PSL giants Orlando Pirates to face Spanish side Sevilla FC in July

This was confirmed by the Spanish club when they confirmed their schedule for the preseason which will begin from July 6.

“During this time, there will be three friendlies,” Sevilla said.

“First up is the South African side Orlando Pirates, who will visit the Jesús Navas Stadium for a behind-closed-doors fixture on Wednesday 15 July.

“The team will then travel to Faro to face Portuguese champions Sporting CP at the Estadio Algarve on Tuesday 23 July, three days before the visit of Al-Ittihad for the 13th edition of the Antonio Puerta Trophy.”

This will be the second time the Nedbank Cup and MTN8 champions head to Spain in preparation for a new season.

The team under the leadership of coach Jose Riveiro, who is from Spain, took Pirates to the European country ahead of the recently finished campaign.

During that period, the Soweto giants played friendlies against Las Palmas, Israeli outfit Maccabi Tel Aviv, and Independiente del Valle from Ecuador.
