The Namibian hitman joined the Brazilians last term and made an immediate impact with 22 goals in all competitions.

The club stormed to their fourth successive league title and have continued that form into the current DStv Premiership season.

After nine games, Shalulile has already scored seven goals, to claim the Player of the Month award for August/September.

Reflecting on his achievements thus far, the 27-year-old said on KickOff: “My target is to end on a high with the team in every competition that we have to play, do good and hope score more goals than I did last year.

“Nothing has changed this season because I’m still the same Peter in giving my 150% at training, doing my extras, listening more to the coaches and continuing to do what I did last year. The mood in the camp is exciting. We are working together, and it is a brotherhood thing.”

Sundowns were eliminated from the CAF Champions League at the quarter-final round last season.

Shalulile added: “As for the league and the Champions League, for us, it is just to take one game at a time. We just want to do good in every match that we play. It is a personal thing to believe that it is possible for anything to happen this season.”
