PSL: Polokwane v Orlando Pirates Preview

Orlando Pirates will look to continue their impressive run of form away to Polokwane City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in the Premiership on Tuesday.

The Buccaneers are unbeaten in nine successive matches, winning six and drawing three.

They emerged as 2-1 victors in the recent Soweto derby before seeing off AmaZulu in the Telkom Knockout 3-1 in extra-time on Saturday, and come into this clash in second place on the Premier League standings after 11 games.

Polokwane City though are enjoying their own impressive season, just two points adrift of Bucs, in fourth place with 17 points – and having played two games less.

Rise and Shine overcame Maritzburg United 1-0 in their last game, after beating Kaizer Chiefs in the league 1-0 and losing to SuperSport United on penalties in the cup.

Bucs boss Milutin Sredojevic said ahead of the tie: “We are playing against a top competitive team. Rama G (Rodney Ramagalela) and company. We expect a tough match and that is our focus now.”

After seeing his side defeat Maritzburg, City coach Jozef Vukusic said: “Nothing is easy, I think Pirates may be a better opponent like Maritzburg.

“On Saturday there was a little pressure, we needed the win, the three points.

“Ja, we need to enjoy the game and try to get a good result and try and make it difficult, because they’re the favourites in that game. I don’t think they’re happy to come here now.”
