The round of action is as enthralling as it comes, and I think there are plenty opportunities to earn some well-deserved cheques!

Read on to see how I think the round unfolds.

Tuesday 8 February

31/20 Newcastle United | Draw 47/20 | Everton 7/4 (21:45)

This should be an incredibly interesting game. Frank Lampard’s appointment at Everton was a surprise, but the business the Toffee’s have done in the window has been superb.

They will see this as a clean slate and an opportunity to turn their season around – but so will their hosts! Back both teams to score at 7/10.

4/10 West Ham United | Draw 39/10 | Watford 58/10 (21:45)

I think this is a rather straightforward game, so I’ll keep it simple. I’m usually a sucker for backing a team with a new manager to get a result…but West Ham playing at home against a bang average Watford side sort of kills that excitement a little.

For my money the home win is a banker. Get on.

48/10 Burnley | Draw 31/10 | Manchester United 11/20 (22:00)

I must admit I was a little concerned to see how many players Manchester United had temporarily gotten rid of, without bringing anyone in.

Considering they are still competing on three tournament fronts; the squad will surely be stretched as the season progresses. The need to finalise a manager is simply a necessity and one that cannot be dragged on this long.

Burnley can frustrate you on their day and I suspect that will be the case here. I wouldn’t be surprised if this ended a draw, but under 2.5 goals at even money makes plenty of appeal.

FA Cup fourth round

Wednesday 9 February

47/20 Norwich City | Draw 24/10 | Crystal Palace 11/10 (21:45)

I think Palace have had an incredible season so far. They have beaten teams they should be beating and when they come up against largely better sides, they always make a good account of themselves.

Norwich have enjoyed a turn of fortune at the advent of 2022, they have notched up three wins from their four games played and to be fair, have been deserved winners. I think Palace will have too much though, and at 11/10 I’m happy to back the Eagles.

13/20 Tottenham | Draw 3/1 | Southampton 4/1 (21:45)

I think this could prove a tough test for Antonio Conte and his side. Southampton shouldn’t be around 4/1 in my opinion, the weapons they hold upfront and their ability to make it a battle in midfield might earn them something from this game.

I’ve been impressed with Spurs though; Conte’s impact has been clear and well-documented. I think Spurs edge it, and just edge it at that. For the multiples, back the home win…but for something a little more – back Spurs to win by one goal at 26/10.

1/10 Manchester City | Draw 8/1 | Brentford 20/1 (21:45)

City are simply the best – Thanks Tina! They have simply outclassed the rest of the League this season and at times done so without trying. Brentford’s acquisition of Christian Eriksen is what football and sport are all about.

We’ll all be supporting the Bees of course, but City win. Back the home win and both teams scoring at 18/10.

19/20 Aston Villa | Draw 26/10 | Leeds United 26/10 (22:00)

Outside of Leeds getting a victory at West Ham, they have been horrible. I’m unmoved by that solitary victory and I can’t see how they beat Villa here…well that is until you see Villa have managed just one victory from their last five.

I think Steven Gerrard’s men remain under the proverbial radar largely due to his stature – but they haven’t been great either. I think a draw might be the play here.

Thursday 10 February

2/7 Liverpool | Draw 52/10 | Leicester City 8/1 (21:45)

This is usually a rather tasty little game! Leicester and their trademark pace-infused approach ask questions of any defence, but Liverpool have been brilliant this season at both ends of the football pitch.

I think the quality the home side possess (even without their African stars) simply outclasses their visitors and take the game out of reach. Get behind the Red’s on the halftime/fulltime double at 7/10.

47/20 Wolves | Draw 23/10 | Arsenal 12/10 (21:45)

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I was shocked at the price available on the home win! Wolves come into the game unbeaten from their last five games in all competition whilst their visitors are yet to win this year.

The quality available for Bruno Lage is unquestionable and their tactical nuisances might earn them a brilliant result. Get on the home win!
