Abuyile AmaKhosi!

Kaizer Chiefs returned to football after two weeks of absence following a coronavirus outbreak at their Naturena base. Chiefs hosted new boys Sekhukhune United who have been one of the most stubborn sides in the league this season. AmaKhosi were without their head coach Stuart Baxter and Arthur Zwane was called to replace the former Bafana Bafana coach.

The first challenge was to put together a competitive line-up as there were a number of players missing, the notable absentees were Keegan Dolly and Khama Billiat. Despite all the absentees the Glamour Boys put in a good shift and snatched all three points thanks to goals from Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Phuthatshedzo Nange.

Bucs too good for Galaxy

Orlando Pirates moved from the seventh position to top three after beating TS Galaxy 2-0 at Orlando Stadium on Saturday night. The match was clouded with drama after Galaxy president Tim Sukazi was denied entry at the venue.

According to a voice heard in the video, it was not the first time Sukazi was locked out at the Orlando Stadium. One would recall that one of the Bafana Bafana coaches was also denied access at the venue by the same Pirates. Despite all the off-the-field drama, the Buccaneers sailed through to the top three of the log for the very first time this season.

KZN, home of draws?

AmaZulu’s one-all draw against Chippa United on Saturday was their 11th draw of the season.

Royal AM and Golden Arrows played into a goalless draw at the Chatsworth stadium. The match will be remembered by the brilliant goalkeeping at both ends.

Maritzburg United were also held to a goalless draw by an in-form Stellenbosch side at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday.

Glad Africa Championship

Richards Bay remains two points clear top of the log following yet another 1-0 win away to TTM. Second-placed JDR Stars defeated bottom of the log, Jomo Cosmos, 3-2 in a nail-biting encounter in Soshanguvhe. Uthongathi played to a goalless draw in Venda against Black Leopards and AmaTuks were held to a disappointing 2-2 draw by a coachless Polokwane City in Pretoria.
