The 27-year-old Nigerian shot-stopper put himself in the shop window with his superb displays for his country at the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations, where the Super Eagles ended as runners-up to hosts Ivory Coast.

The Chilli Boys would love to retain the services of the former Enyimba and Lobi Stars keeper but won’t keep him back if a good offer comes in.

“We are talking to a few clubs abroad,” Mpengesi said.

“We also believe that he needs something better, especially after the performance that he showed at the AFCON.

“You know, being number two, they were runner-ups, he was number two, second best goalkeeper of AFCON.

“So if the opportunity comes especially abroad, of course even if it comes locally and the offer is for him, it’s not even for us. If the offer for him is better then we are not going to hold on to him.”

Nwabali, who has helped his side reach the semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup, where they will face Orlando Pirates, has also been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs.
