On Thursday afternoon Marumo Gallants announced the purchase of Soweto club Moroka Swallows. The Dube Birds were up for sale after struggling with some financial issues as fans were not coming to the stadium to support the team.
The panel in this week’s edition unpacks that the fans of Swallows had an impact on the sale of the club.
“As supporters, we don’t contribute as much as we do, teams like Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates whereby their supporters will be able to say they contribute because of what they can do,” Mphoza said.
“They have a large number of fans who can go there and say they purchase merchandise they supporting their club.”
