AmaZulu FC have announced a new sponsorship deal and signings ahead of the 2024/25 Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.
After parting ways with retail giant, Spar, bringing to an end the longest-ever sponsorship partnership in PSL history, Usuthu unveiled Amandla Mobile was their new title sponsor.
Club president Sandile Zungu revealed that Amandla Mobile is a network service provider powered by MTN.
Zungu also confirmed the club has completed the signing of seven players in striker Etiosa Ighodaro, Senzo Ndlovu, Boniface Haba, Kwanda Mngonyama, Luvuyo Phewa alongside youngsters Thato Matli and Leonardo Roy.
However, Matli and Roy are set to be sent out on loan to gain more first-team experience before hoping to fight for a spot in coach Pablo Franco Martin’s team.
The president also said the club has opted to look within and promote Aubrey Vilakazi to the position of senior team goalkeeper coach.
Vilakazi replaced Wayne Sandilands who left AmaZulu to join Simba SC of Tanzania as a goalkeeper coach under the leadership of head coach Fadlu Davids.
Zungu hopes that the new changes on and off the pitch will be able to help the club achieve their targets for the campaign.
Usuthu’s owner, Zungu, wants to see the club qualify for CAF tournaments, the Champions League or Confederation Cup.
That can be achieved through top three finish in the league or through winning the Nedbank Cup.
