Christian Saile opened the scoring at the Peter Mokaba Stadium after 19 minutes.

Before Terrence Dzvukamanja levelled from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute before Mduduzi Shabalala grabbed the winner for Amakhosi late in the 76th minute to hand the Glamour Boys a morale-boosting win.

It was the first win in their last six DStv Premiership matches for Amakhosi, to ascend to eighth position, in the standings from 10th.

Gavin Hunt’s SuperSport, meanwhile, dropped a place down in the standings to sixth.

“It was a very difficult game, playing Gavin (Hunt) is always hard. We got the goals,” Johnson said.

“You can see on the pitch the players are happy.

“They’ve put in a lot of hard work, and now it has paid off. I thought it could have paid off in the last game and the game before that, but today was different, we got the three points, and that is what we came for.”

Next up for Chiefs is a home clash against runaway league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium on Thursday.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
