Amakhosi have struggled for results this season and dismissed former head coach Molefi Ntseki as a result.

Under interim boss Johnson, the club have started to find some form and are on a two-match winning run, having defeated Swallows 1-0 and Polokwane City 1-0.

Next up is a DStv Premiership clash with Richards Bay at the weekend.

Johnson explained there is still a lot of work to be done at the club to improve performances.

On the City game, he said on IOL: “I thought there were times when we could have killed the game; when our left backs, centre backs and right backs had the ball, but we then played the ball too early and through.

“If we had the win like (we did against) Swallows then we can say we are building on the type of play we want to have going forwards. But we have to keep stitching the Kaizer Chiefs cloth.”

Johnson added: “We didn’t play our best football and we now have to go home and see how do we play against a team that plays like this.

“At the end of the day everybody is happy because we got the three points.”
