Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson felt his side deserved at least a draw from their Soweto derby loss to Orlando Pirates.
Evidence Makgopa scored the only goal of the game at the FNB Stadium on 20 minutes for a narrow 1-0 victory.
Amakhosi managed seven shots throughout the tie but with only one on target, compared to nine and four for Bucs.
One of those shots found the back of the net, but despite his side creating little throughout the tie, Johnson insisted there was an opportunity for Chiefs to win the tie.
He said after the game on SuperSport: “A game maybe of two halves, I thought we had the better chances in the first half.

“I thought we had a nice chance in the beginning but then they picked up and scored their first chance in the first half.
“We were ok in the second half, we should’ve scored late in the half but not to be. Congratulations to Pirates, they have the bragging rights now.
“But we will come back, the way we want to play and the way some of the players played today, I think we can only get better but we need to be a lot more calmer in a lot of moments in the game.”
Amakhosi ended the evening in eighth place with 14 points from 12 games and Bucs in seventh place, with 15 points from 10 games.
