Kaizer Chiefs are in trouble with the PSL after AmaKhosi fans invaded the Danie Craven Stadium pitch after their MTN8 quarter-final win against Stellenbosch last Sunday.

The game ended with the scores tied at 1-1 and the match had to be decided by a penalty shootout which Chiefs won 4-3.

But the Chiefs supporters took things too far when celebrations the victory by invading the pitch, before police could disperse the crowd, which led to players and officials being forced to fun into the tunnel for safety.

PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu confirmed that Chiefs have been ordered to appear before the PSL’s Disciplinary Committee this coming Thursday.

“I can confirm that charges were laid against Kaizer Chiefs and they will be appearing before the PSL DC this coming Thursday to answer to charges of spectator pitch invasion in their match against Stellenbosch FC,” Majavu told iDiskiTimes.

“Once the DC has been finalised, I’ll provide further details and the outcome thereof,” Majavu added.
