Manqele, 35, also shared his frustration with the pervasive spread of unfounded rumours about his situation in an interview with Soccer Laduma.

In a conversation with Soccer Laduma, Manqele clarified his stance on his career, saying, “Sure, my brother, firstly, I would like to clear the air about my situation.” He emphasized that he had never announced his retirement or any injuries, asserting his desire to continue playing. “I’m 100% fit and in good shape,” he added.

Expressing his discontent with media misrepresentation, Manqele urged for factual reporting. “That’s why I don’t talk to media about anything that concerns my personal life because they don’t know what is happening about me,” he said. He pleaded with people to refrain from ruining others’ careers through the dissemination of false information, stressing the importance of truthfulness.

Manqele, who rose to prominence playing for Free State Stars in 2011 before joining Sundowns, reflected on the impact of false narratives on his fans. He acknowledged the disappointment and happiness elicited by fabricated stories, highlighting the cruel nature of a world where some individuals relish in others’ misfortunes.

However, the resilient striker affirmed his readiness to make a comeback. Discussing the recently concluded season, he attributed his absence to the lack of a team. Following his spell with Pretoria Callies FC, Manqele decided to engage with his local community, dedicating himself to youth development and participating in Sunday league matches to maintain his fitness.

“I am ready to bounce back,” declared Manqele. “There is still a lot I can offer to football at the highest level. I am not ready to retire.” Grateful for the support of his fans, he expressed his determination to pursue his passion and thanked them for standing by him.

Throughout his career, Manqele has donned the jerseys of various teams, including Chiefs, Swallows FC, Chippa United, Royal Eagles, and Real Kings.

With his sights firmly set on returning to professional soccer, Manqele aims to silence his critics and showcase his talent once again on the pitch.
