With the departure of key forward Khanyisa Mayo to Algerian club CR Belouizdad, The Citizens need a replacement striker. Erasmus, a free agent after leaving Orlando Pirates, has been linked with a potential return to the club.

Despite these links, the recent acquisition of Amadou Soukouna could influence the club’s decision-making regarding the 34-year-old Erasmus.

Comitis told Sports Night Amplified With Andile Ncube that he has spoken with the former Bafana Bafana player about a potential return, the final decision rests with Tinkler and whether the coach sees Erasmus fitting into his plans for the team.

“I had a chat with Kermit about eight days ago,” Comitis said.

“Eric really to give me a directive on this. I don’t make decisions alone with any players at this club so that still has to be discussed.

“As I said to you, our striker that we had earmarked arrived this week. He was supposed to be here a month ago, but he had certain documentation that he had to still achieve.

“He’s here now, so I don’t know what that will mean for Kermit, but the discussion will be this week.”
