In a surprising turn of events, the contractual situation surrounding Khama Billiat at Kaizer Chiefs has plunged the club into uncertainty, with the player going AWOL since June 29.

With his contract expiring on June 30, 2023, Kaizer Chiefs management has revealed they had tabled a new offer for the Zimbabwean playmaker to extend his stay with Amakhosi. However, to the bewilderment of the club and its supporters, Billiat has remained elusive, failing to respond to the offer or any attempts to reach him.

Billiat was last seen at the Kaizer Chiefs Village on 29 June and has not answered any of the calls made or messages sent to him by the Club.

“The team is currently in camp with all the players, yet Billiat, who is also expected to be there with his teammates, failed to show up and is currently nowhere to be found.”

With just over a month to go before the new season kicks-off, Kaizer Chiefs announced two more new signings. First, they confirmed the signing of Edson Daniel Castillo Garcia who’s been given jersey number 17. This was followed up with a surprise announcement of 29-year-old Tebogo Potsane from Royal AM.

Last week the Naturena based side announced six new players which included one of the most coveted players in the PSL, Ranga Chivaviro.
