NEWS: Midfielder Mlondi Mbanjwa says top eight finish a priority for AmaZulu as they face on-fire Stellenbosch

Usuthu failed to maintain their first-half 1-0 lead against relegation-threatened Richards Bay on Tuesday.

Substitute Justice Figuareido alongside Sanele Barns caught AmaZulu’s defence sleeping to give the Natal Rich Boyz a vital 2-1 win.

Pablo Martín’s side currently occupy 12th position in the standings and are two points behind Kaizer Chiefs in the race for eighth spot.

“It won’t be an easy game approaching Stellenbosch especially since we are playing away,” Mbanjwa explained.

“They have been doing very well in the last 23 or 24 games they have been doing very well they haven’t lost a game.

“We have to up our game, especially after the last game defeat against Richards Bay where we lost 2-1.

“We have been working very hard these past few days preparing for the match. So, I think as a team prepared for the game.”

Mbanjwa further revealed that Usuthu has been very unlucky recently to get positive results.

“Luck hasn’t been on our side judging the past few games we have been playing.

“We won the Chippa game we were fortunate there but in the past weekends, we haven’t been doing well.

“But we looking forward to these last four games improving doing better especially making it to the top eight which is a priority,” he concluded.
