The Tanzanian champions showcased their dominance, delivering a blow that underscored the significant work ahead for the once-mighty Amakhosi to regain their status.

This match marked the home debut for new head coach Nasreddine Nabi, with fans eager to witness the Tunisian tactician’s impact on the team. However, those who attended the game at Free State Stadium likely left disappointed.

The match’s momentum shifted in the 25th minute when Zimbabwean Prince Dube scored, beating Brandon Petersen to give Young Africans the lead. Chiefs attempted to respond but were thwarted. In stoppage time of the first half, Stephane Aziz Ki doubled the lead, making it 2-0.

The second half brought more challenges for Nabi and his team. Clement Mzize scored to make it 3-0, and soon after, Ki struck again, extending the lead to 4-0.

Following the fourth goal, Young Africans eased their pressure, allowing Chiefs to create a few opportunities. However, the Tanzanian defense remained resolute, and Chiefs were unable to convert any chances.

This defeat serves as a stark reminder of the improvements needed for Kaizer Chiefs to be competitive again.
