The 28-year-old midfielder joined Amakhosi from Cape Town City this season, having previously turned out for Baroka and Baberwa FC, and the Kaizer Chiefs youth team.

He has already featured six times for his new side and has been blown away by the support the club receives from its fervent support base.

The DStv Premiership is currently in a break for international matches, and reflecting on his start to the current campaign, Mdantsane explained he feels a responsibility to do well at Chiefs.

He told iDiski Times: “There are a lot of supporters, which is great for the team. In all my career at the teams I’ve been with I’ve never experienced such massive supporters.

“And obviously you can understand they are very loyal to the team and they want to win each and every time. So that’s why I’m here, to win and help the team. Obviously, one thing that’s very key to the team is to win trophies.”

Mdantsane added: “It’s not easy to wear the KC jersey but you have to be strong and you have to demand more from yourself as well and try to push each and every chance you get.

“So I think it’s not that difficult but I’m strong, I’m a professional. I know what’s at stake and what I need to do.”
