The 28-year-old, who is valued at around €1.5 million (R35 million). expressed his desire to leave Chippa for a bigger challenge at the beginning of June.

“The transfer window is going to open soon but for me, I wish to take a step [forward| I don’t know if it will be South Africa or Europe,” Nwabali told the media via Siya Gijana.

“I played well for my club [Chippa United] this season, they also wished me to go play in a bigger team. Even if it’s South Africa or Europe I will play. I’m not saying goodbye yet, most big teams are looking for me, and most people are looking for me.”

Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs of the PSL have been mentioned as potential landing spots, with English Championship side Queens Park Rangers also reportedly expressing interest in Nwabali.

Recently, the Nigerian goalkeeper has also been linked to Saudi Pro League club Al Ettifaq.

However, with just a month remaining before the 2024/25 PSL season begins, Nwabali may remain at Chippa United, as no solid offers have emerged.

Chippa United assistant coach Thabo September praised Nwabali for his professionalism, noting that the goalkeeper has continued to train well with the team despite the ongoing transfer rumors.

September also admitted that he is unaware of any formal offers for the former Enyimba shot-stopper, but added that Nwabali is prepared to stay with the club if no move materializes.

“He’s being a professional and training well, and if that [transfer] doesn’t happen, he’s looking forward to playing in the PSL for Chippa United. But me as a coach I don’t know if there’s anything on the table,” September told FARPost.

“I’m not going to be like everyone else; that’s gonna be like there’s something here and there. On my side, I don’t know anything that’s on the table. But all I want is good things for him, I want the best for Stanley because he deserves it, he has done well.”
