The seasoned goalkeeper was speaking at a media conference when he was asked about the Moroka Swallows and PSL saga to which he responded that all he knows is that the team and the players are currently going through a disciplinary hearing, and he does not know what the outcome of that will be.

“I’m sure today they are going to finalise the whole situation and I just hope that we get back to doing what we love to do and continue from where we left off.” said Akpeyi.

He added that it was very painful and disappointing to surrender six points in the league after all the hard work they had put in.

“But then again, we look forward to what we can get from the rest of the game if things get resolved between the players and the team.” said Akpeyi.

Moroka Swallows was recently charged by PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu, with misconduct and bringing the league into disrepute and then slapped with a hefty fine of R1 million and points forfeiture for failing to honour their DStv Premiership fixtures against Mamelodi Sundowns and Lamontville Golden Arrows in December.
