This season, a young SuperSport side struggled to cope with the demands of their league and cup commitments.

SuperSport were knocked out in the first round of the MTN8 and the first round of the Carling Knockout Cup, alongside a quarter-final exit in the Nedbank Cup, while making it to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.

A top four finish appeared to be on the cards at the half-way mark but their poor form carried over into their league performances throughout 2024.

The head coach’s current contract is set to expire in July, although by all accounts he is expected to remain with the club for the upcoming campaign at least.

Speaking after the weekend’s 1-1 draw with Orando Pirates to compete their season, an upbeat Hunt joked with iDiski Times about his future.

“Can I go to the office tomorrow or what?

“Uhm, I don’t know, I don’t wanna go there [to answer your question], no let’s leave it I don’t wanna answer that question,” he said.

Hunt added: “It’s a great club, listen. It’s one of the clubs that have good culture, good youth development, there’s always a plan.

“But we need, if we wanna compete with people in this league, you’re going to need a little bit of help you know, it’s very, very difficult.

“But as I said, I think we’ve done very well, beating a lot of teams with bigger budgets than us this season, that’s the most important thing and if you can do that every year.

“But we can’t keep doing this, we need to level it out a bit. There’s a good crop of kids but we need help, we need help.”
