Jali, 34, had a glittering career, rising to stardom after joining Orlando Pirates from AmaTuks in 2009.

After winning the double-treble, he moved to Europe playing for Belgian side KV Oostende between 2014 and 2018.

The playmaker came back to South Africa in 2018 and continued where he left off as he added more trophies to his cabinet with Sundowns.

After lifting eight more trophies, including five league titles at Chloorkop, he parted ways with Downs towards the end of 2022/23.

The next chapter in his career saw him join Swallows, where everything seemed to be going well up until the club faced financial issues in December, which led to his exit. Since then, Swallows struggled but managed to survive relegation.

At the end of May, Makaab said Jali’s future was not yet decided but he has now committed to continue playing professional football and the pair are now looking for a new club for ‘AJ’.

“We had a meeting, AJ has made the decision, he wants to continue playing,” Makaab told iDiski Times exclusively.

“Which is something I am happy with. Now the next thing is to look for opportunities for him and make the right decision.”
