Attacker Khama Billiat on Tuesday landed in Zimbabwe ahead of completing a sensational return home amid a fresh transfer twist since his much-publicised departure from Kaizer Chiefs.

Billiat departed the Soweto Giants at the expiration of his contract in June 2023.

The 33-year-old has been at the centre of a protracted transfer saga since, where he had been previously linked with a contract extension – on reduced terms with Chiefs – before being linked to a host of DStv Premiership sides such as Cape Town City.

The Zimbabwe international has now opted for a return home, but there is another transfer twist that has emerged.

After being tipped by reports in Zimbabwe to have agreed a move to Premier Soccer League outfit Dynamos FC. Rivals Yadah FC are now believed to have hijacked the transfer after officials were spotted meeting Billiat at the RGM International Airport in Harare.

Zimbabwe’s The Herald reports that Billiat is set to be unveiled on Thursday by Yadah FC after a breakdown in negotiations with Dynamos in a dramatic about-turn in fortunes.

Billiat made a total of 362 appearances in South African football in the colours of Ajax Cape Town, Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs while lifting eight trophies, including three league titles.
