Stellenbosch FC showcased their impressive pedigree in the DStv Premiership, extending their unbeaten run to an impressive 12 matches with a commanding 3-0 win over Royal AM at the Danie Craven Stadium.

Devon Titus broke the deadlock in the 25th minute before Andre de Jong and the in-form Iqraam Rayners added their names to the scoresheet.

Golden Arrows piled more misery on Richards Bay with a 2-1 victory in their DStv Premiership clash at the Mpumalanga Stadium on Saturday.

Richards Bay needed a victory to move away from the relegation zone but it was Arrows that took the lead on the half-hour mark through Nduduzo Sibiya while substitute Olwethu Ncube came off the bench to score what proved to be the winner with 15 minutes remaining.

Polokwane City bounced back from a run of three straight defeats with a morale-boosting 1-0 win over Chippa United at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Rise and Shine were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by Richards Bay FC before also suffering back-to-back PSL losses against Orlando Pirates and Golden Arrows, but they were able to collect all three points against the Chilli Boys on Saturday to get their season back on the right track.

The winning goal came as early as five minutes into the clash when Ndumiso Mabena applied the finishing touch to a great team effort to put the home side in the lead.

TS Galaxy moved to within a stone’s throw of the top eight with a decisive 2-0 victory over AmaZulu at the Mbombela Stadium.

Both of Galaxy’s goals came in the second half, with Thato Khiba putting the home side in the lead with only his second goal for the club in the 54th minute, before Serbian striker Samir Nurkovic doubled their advantage 20 minutes later.

There was no coming back for AmaZulu from there, as their winless streak in the DStv Premiership stretched to five matches.

The victory moves the Rockets into ninth place on the PSL table with 28 points, just one behind Golden Arrows, while Usuthu remain rooted down in 12th.
