Solskjaer is Manchester United’s Interim Boss

Solskjaer is United interim boss

Manchester United prematurely announced Ole Gunner Solskjaer as their new interim manager on the club’s official website.

Shortly after Jose Mourinho was sacked as Red Devils boss a post appeared welcoming the former player to the club on a temporary basis.

A video was posted with the caption: “Solskjaer becomes our interim manager, 20 seasons after clinching the Treble with THAT goal at Camp Nou…”

Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg also erred when she posted on her Twitter account congratulating Solskjaer on his appointment.

It read: “Great day for Norwegian football. Good luck keeping control of the Red Devils, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.”

The 45-year-old, who made 235 Premier League appearances for United, scoring 91 goals including a Champions League winner, ended his career at the club in 2007 before coaching the club’s reserve team for two seasons.

He then took over at Molde in Norway and has also coached at Cardiff City and Clausenengen U19.

Michael Carrick is expected to take over first-team duties before Solskjaer’s arrival.
