Race 5.
This looks to be a
tricky first leg of the Jackpot and some caution is advised. The tentative
first pick goes to BELLA RUBINO
 who is
a 3yr old filly taking on the boys and who has her first run for her new
trainer. She has cracked pole position and if fully settled into her new
environment, she could be the one to be with here. KOWLOON KID returns from a 25 week break and has
also not had a barrier trial. She is however a speedy sort who should put her
handy three draw to good use. TOTAL FAITH is another 3yr old
filly. She has her first run since a 11 week rest and should appreciate the
drop in trip after finishing third last time out over 1100M. WICKED ALIBI returns after an even longer 28 week
break. He has his first outing for his new conditioner and could enjoy the drop
in distance of today’s contest.

Race 6.

ROCKATOMIC has
his first start since a lengthy 41 week break from racing and has not had the
benefit of a barrier trial, but he will be hoping to complete his quartet of
victories today and the manner in which he dealt with his opposition when
completing his hat-trick, this is very much on the cards. EASTWOOD was denied five wins on the bounce when a
disappointing 6.2L behind the winner last time out over six furlongs. The
gelding returns to the shorter five furlongs today and could be the immediate danger
to the top choice. CAPTAIN PUNCH returns from a
26 week rest and has his first start for his new trainer. On some of his better
form, he must have some sort of chance in this line-up. THE CAPTAIN is the stable companion of the latter.
He missed out on his hat-trick last time out over six furlongs and although
drawn the widest, he could be a solid back-up for the yard.

Race 7.
COUNT OF ESSEX has
finished second in his last two start over 1300M and will be hoping to go one
better today. The increase in distance should not be an issue and from gate
three, he could be the one that they all have to beat. DUNKIRK was a little disappointing last time out
over 1300M, but will have 2kgs remove d from his back thanks to his claiming
apprentice and has cracked pole position. If bouncing back to his best, he
could be a danger to the former. THE AUDITOR is the stable mate
to the top selection and was only reeled in very late last time out over 1300M.
He is likely to attempt similar tactic here and could prove difficult to
overhaul in the closing stages. ISLAND DANCER never got into
the race last time out over 1100M and despite being drawn the widest of them
all, he could threaten if recapturing some of his better form over this longer
journey.

Race 8.

BILLET DOUX was
making good late progress last time out over 1300M suggesting that the extra
ground on offer here will be to his liking. He starts from draw three and is a
leading contender in the race. TACITURN finished a 1.8L
fourth last time out over this c&d and is likely to turn in another solid
effort here jumping from draw seven. PERPETUITY stayed on well in the
closing stages of his last outing over 1300M at this venue and has pulled pole
position. He should relish the extra distance of today’s contest. GO WALLY kicked on well last time out over the
c&d and is another who should be included in all bets.

Race 5.
With the scratching
of one of her main rivals, the way may be cleared for SHAHZADE
 to
notch up her fourth career victory. She was only just denied completing her
hat-trick last time out over seven furlongs and will be looking to bounce back
to winning ways today. She steps up in trip, but based on her last effort, this
should not be an issue. DEEP EUPHORIA has not been far
back in her last three runs and was hampered in her latest outing when
finishing third over 1500M. She could complete the exacta here. WHISKEY SHOOTER has her peak run today and finished
third last time out over 1550M. She should have no issue with taking on the
slightly extra distance. PURE SCOT is seldom far off the action and has
drawn gate two. In addition, she will have 2kgs taken off her allocated weight
courtesy of her claiming apprentice.

Race 6.
Two fillies could
dominate the finish to this contest and secure the exacta. SWORD OF MERCY
 has
her hat-trick attempt today after winning her last outing over 1100M going away
from the opposition. She has a handy five draw and will be hoping to continue
on her winning ways here. She can however expect stiff competition from SPLENDID ISOLATION who returns from a 15 week rest and has not had a
barrier trial. She has only had the two runs to date and did win over 1100M on
debut. HE CAN STAR goes for his hat-trick run and has pulled pole position. He
will certainly test the top two selections. RAMP
 returns
from a lengthy 93 weeks off the race track and has his first run for his new
trainer. The fact that his connections have kept him in training suggests that
they still feel that he has something to offer and as such, he should be
included in all bets.

Race 7.
HAPAIRA is a 4yr old
filly taking on males, but she missed out on her hat-trick last time out over
the c&d when just 0.75L behind the victor. She will start from draw five
and should ensure that the boys know that they have been in a race. TATUNKA has
his hat-trick run after winning his latest start over seven furlongs. He does
have a wide fifteen draw to overcome, but he is likely to be doing his best
work late. MUSWELLBROOK
 showed marked improvement when
winning his last outing over this trip and if he is able to confirm that
effort, he could trouble the top two selections, despite having draw fourteen. MAXIMAK is also a 4yr old filly who although finishing sixth last time
out, was only beaten by 2.1L. She was making steady late progress that day and
should be involved in the finish here.

Race 8.
BOOMSTOCK has
recorded three second in a row, the latest two being over a mile. The gelding
steps up to nine furlongs today and has drawn gate nine, but he should be
picking off the frontrunners as they drive down to the wire. TAKSU was staying on well last time out over a mile
and based on that effort, he should have no issue with the extra ground on
offer today. He has a wide thirteen draw to deal with, but gets a set of
blinkers fitted for the first time and if these make him concentrate all the
way to the finishing post, be could pose a threat to the top choice. BLENDERS EDITION won his latest outing over a mile
when finishing strongly and is sure to appreciate going the nine furlongs today.
JENKINS on the other hand drops in
distance after finishing fifth last time out over ten furlongs and could do
better as a result.
