Race 2

With the scratchings of two of his main rivals, the way may have been opened for ROMAN CANDLE to record his maiden victory and he is made the best bet on today’s program. His last two outings have been solid and from his now five draw, he could find himself in the winner box after this contest. POSTER MAN showed marked improvement in his last start over 1100M and if he is able to repeat that effort here, he could be a danger to the top choice. SCORCHED LAND is a 2yr old colt taking on older horses, but he has only had the two runs to date and could be involved in the finish today. ALDANE has shown gradual improvement in his last two runs and is one to be considered for minor stake money.

Race 4
SALSA DREAMING only just failed to overhaul the winner last time out over ten furlongs when attracting plenty of betting support. On that effort, he should relish going the extra distance of today’s race. He has a wide draw of sixteen to overcome, but he should be doing his best work late. EXPIREDTIME and NODEEL renew their rivalry here. The former finished 1.3L in front of the latter in their last clash over ten furlongs and is 1kg better off at today’s weight and as such, he should be able to confirm that result. The pair are drawn poorly at thirteen and fourteen respectively and the race is over slightly longer, but there should not be much separating the two when they hit the line. REAL TIME WARRIOR showed good improvement last time out when fourth over ten furlongs, 2.9L behind the winner. Unlike his three rivals above, he has a handy four draw.

Race 5
KENSINGTON KID had his consistency rewarded with a 0.8L victory over this c&d last time out. He stayed on well that day and despite a wideish draw of nine, he looks to be the value in the race and could complete the double. RONAN’S ROCK has cracked pole position. He drops in trip after finishing 2.3L behind the winner over seven furlongs in his last outing and should be picking off the frontrunners over the latter stages of the contest. DRAGONEIGHT won last time out over the c&d despite being caught out wide. He too has a wide draw to negotiate, but he should be right up there in the mix. ABOUT TIME steps up from the five furlongs of his last outing where he finished third, just under two lengths off the winner. He was returning from a 41-week break that day and if not in need of one more run, he should be respected in this line-up jumping from his handy five draw.

Race 6
REUBEN JAMES has put in two solid performances over the c&d, winning his maiden race last time out by two lengths. He likes to race up with the pace and although taking on stronger here, he may well be up to the task on hand. MYSTIC SPLENDOUR is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she also won last time out over the c&d and from her good draw of three, she should keep the top pick honest. EXCELSA won his maiden race last time out over the c&d. He has a very wide draw to overcome, but he could use his early gate speed to move across without using up too much energy. ACHI BABA has had two encouraging runs over the c&d and did finish second in the latest when only beaten a short-head. He also faces a wide draw, but he should not be overlooked in this field.

Race 7
AUNTIE MONNIE is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she won by one and a half lengths over this c&d on debut and could be almost anything. She would no doubt have come on with the run under her belt and starting from gate seven, she should be afforded the utmost respect. She can however expect some strong opposition from MORE THAN A SAMBA who won his last start over five furlongs by some 1.3L. He has pulled pole position and should be right up there in the firing line. MAGIC CHARLEE drops down in trip from the 1100M of his last outing where he finished third, two lengths behind the winner. He has a handy three draw and will have this cause aided by having 2kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. PATAGONIAN is drawn one inside the latter and whilst finishing fifth last time out over the c&d, he was just 3.2L behind the winner. He is not without some sort of chance here.
