Race 1
NOBLE CAUSE followed up his maiden win in his penultimate outing over a mile with a solid next run over the same distance, despite having to be eased in the running. If taking to the extra ground, he looks to be the one to side with here. LES AMOUREUX is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she drops back from 2100M of her last start and should do better as a result. ROGUE is also a 4yr old mare and has cracked pole position. She was staying on well in her last outing over 1500M suggesting that the extra ground may be to her liking. BUS TICKET steps up from the mile. He was forced to race wide last time out and could be looking for this greater test of stamina.
Race 2
This looks a tricky race and some caution is advised. The narrow top pick goes to HYPERION STAR who has showed gradual improvement in his last two starts. He has a handy draw of five and should be right up there in the dash down to the line. THE RAPTOR’S TALON was staying on when third last time out over five furlongs and could enjoy going the extra trip here. He has drawn wide at ten however. FLYING HONOUR has drawn even worse, jumping from the widest gate of them all. On the plus side, he will get 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. MONEY TRAVELS returns from a 13-week rest and has not had the benefit of a barrier trial. He drops from the seven furlongs of his last outing but has pulled pole position, which he is sure to put to good use.
Race 3
Although SHE’S UNUSUAL finished fifth last time out over 1300M, she was just 1.9L behind the winner. She is drawn at gate two and should put in another honest performance here. AMAZING DAY on the other hand has to jump from gate eleven, but she drops in trip from seven furlongs and should use her early gate speed to move across without using up too much energy. SNEAKY GAL had a fair comeback effort last time out over six furlongs when returning from a 31-week rest. If not in need of one more outing, she should be respected in this line-up. TAKE SOME TIME makes her debut here but has had two barrier trials, the latest of which was encouraging. Any betting support for her should be respected.
Race 4
AKECHETA has his first run since a 16-week break. He was seldom far off the winner in his runs prior to the rest and if not too much in need of the run, he should be a leading contender here. IN FIORE was a tad disappointing in his last outing over six furlongs and drops back to the five furlongs today. If he is able to reproduce the effort when winning his penultimate start over this c&d, he could be a threat to the former. SAMPHIRE HOE is a 3yr old filly taking on males. She has the widest draw to negotiate, but gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time today and if these have the desired effect, she should be involved in the finish. ORNATE is a 4yr old filly who is drawn one inside the latter. She did win her penultimate outing over the c&d and should not be lightly dismissed.
Race 5
Two mares could dominate the finish to this contest and complete the exacta here. RUBY TWO SHOES was making good late progress in her last start over five furlongs when finishing a length behind the winner and should enjoy going over the extra ground today. THAT’S MADNESS drops back from the seven furlongs of her last outing. She raced up with the pace that day and should not have an issue with the drop in distance here. KENSINGTON KID has a poor draw of eleven to overcome, but he is a speedy sort who is likely to use that pace to get across without using up too much energy. MASTER CRAMSIE returns from a 23-week break and has not had a barrier trial, so his fitness will need to be taken on trust. He also drops down from the seven furlongs of his latest run and has drawn the worst, but he should nonetheless still be included in all bets.
Race 6
ROSE OF SAVANNAH goes back over the seven-furlong journey after finishing just over a length behind the winner last time out over six furlongs. From her mid-field draw, she could be the one that they all have to beat. SOUCHONG drops back to seven furlongs after perhaps not quite enjoying her last outing over a mile. She won her penultimate start over this distance and is a force to be reckoned with here. ELAVADA also drops back from a mile and should be staying on over the latter stages of the contest. RICH VELVET won her maiden race last time out over 1300M by three lengths and although taking on stronger today, she may well be up to the task on hand.
Race 7
ROY’S COMMAND has finished second in his last two starts over a mile and drops back to seven furlongs. He will be hoping to go one better today. LORD MAGNUSSEN has solid form over this distance and from his eight draw, he is likely to put in another honest performance in this field. ST ANTON missed out on his hat-trick last time out over the seven furlongs and sticks with the trip. He will be looking to bounce back to winning ways here. SALTY RAIN is seldom far off the action and whilst he has to come from a poor draw of fourteen, he should be doing his best work late.
