International Racing – Mackay – Tuesday 26 May 2020

International Racing - Taree – Monday 25 May 2020

A large and competitive nine-race programme is scheduled for Mackay on Tuesday with soft conditions predicted. The best bet is ONLY WANNA SING in Race 3. He looks a standout selection on paper, having pulled off the hat-trick last time out and should be tough to beat this afternoon.

Race 1
NATURAL EMPEROR
won her maiden under Elyce Smith and it is encouraging to see the pair reunited
for this contest. She looks difficult to oppose on form but will receive a
challenge in the form of ALEYSA’S DREAM.
She is an ultra-consistent filly that likes to race up with the speed and she
should be right there at the business end. OUR
STORMY GIRL
looks like the stable elect from the Peter Fleming camp and
must be respected.
Race 2
THREE STRIPES has
either won or finished runner-up in all his career starts to date. The only
concern today is that he has his first run at Mackay but nevertheless, he
should take a power of beating in this contest. TABATHA MISS on the other hand will benefit from racing at her home
track and she can vigorously challenge the top selection. GOLDIE’S ARCHER followed up her second career win well when she was
only collared in the latter stages and she could be one to upset.
Race 3
ONLY WANNA SING
is the best bet on the card. He is on a hot win-streak and will look to pull of
four wins on the trot. It is encouraging that Beau Appo retains the ride and he
also has a creditable victory on this track. ABSOLUT ARTIE impressively set the pace last time on this track and
found extra to win a tad cosily. He looks the biggest threat to the top selection.
CINNAMON MISSILE finished right
behind the second selection last time out when storming past the post and is
another massive threat in this contest.
LONROCK placed
last start at Terang on a soft track when fresh and expected to settle off the
speed, well placed. SHOWBAG
drops 1kg from last run and likely to race off the speed, could threaten. KALLESKE has two placings from seven
runs this prep and drops in weight, each-way claims. CHAPARRAL BELLE resumes after a spell of 24 weeks and ran
fifth at Terang when last first-up, sneaky chance.LONROCK placed last start at Terang on a soft track when

Race
4
This is a field filled with long time maidens and some
caution is advised. GETOUT OF MY NEIGH
managed to beat CHLOE JADE in his
penultimate run and then followed that up with a moderate effort at Cairns. He
races better on this track and could represent each way value in this contest. CHLOE JADE also disappointed last time
out but the form of her penultimate run is attractive with three horses having
come out to win since. SHAKA DIAMOND
is battling to win but often pops up in the places and must be respected.
Race 5
IFYOUKNOWWHATIMEAN
won impressively last time out and travels well under Sonja Wiseman. The stable
companion LEFKAS ISLAND possibly
needed his last start when finishing midfield and he will strip a much fitter
horse this afternoon. DRUM SHOW is
better than his last start suggests and he can find a form return in this
contest.
Race 6
CAPTAIN TOM
followed up his third career victory up positively on this track when he only
found one better on the day. He won on this track at the end of March in soft
underfoot conditions, which is encouraging. PLANET WARRIOR has been ultra-consistent and his next career
victory looks overdue. ATTIQUE has
only failed to deliver once this season and he can finish in the money.
Race 7
ABSOLUT ARTIE
will be tough to beat in this contest and he is one of the better bets this
afternoon. His penultimate run is best ignored and can follow up on his recent
win here at Mackay. HOWICK disappointed
last time out but performs much better under Chris Whiteley and looks a strong
contender in this Open Handicap. She also won on this track in November, which
is a plus. ONEMORE EMOTION runs
better at Rockhampton but did find a form return last time out and has to be
respected.
Race 8
ACT OF BRAVERY
won well last time on this track and travels well for Nigel Seymour. He is also
the stable elect from the Wayne Promfett yard and he must be respected in this
contest. The stable companion, GRAND DE
LAGO
, shouldn’t be discounted though. He is a four-time winner and he won a
Class 3 Plate on this track in March. CHARLIE
ROCKET
is at nice odds and if he returns fresh, he can run into the places.
Race 9
SANTISIMO will
take a power of beating in this contest. He drew clear easily last time under
Ashley Butler and that formline has since been franked. JUSTALAD had some decent form before the layoff and will be at
wealthy odds. He will find it tough to beat the top selection but should settle
off the speed and do his best work in the latter stages of the race. SHEEZASINGA looks the likely pacemaker
in the race and should be in the mix, providing she saves some energy for the
final furlong.
Race 10
The veteran BOOT
SHAKER
has fought hard in his last three outings to only find one better
and could be rewarded for consistency in this Open Handicap. He is likely to race
just behind the leaders and pounce on them in the latter stages. ART ATTACK had some consistent form
before the layoff and if returning fit, he can pose a threat to the top
selection. SWEET SURPRISE was only
beaten half a length at Rockhampton in her latest and she merits healthy
respect in the” lucky last”.
