Race 1
OAKFIELD TICKETS brings the most consistent form into the race. She finished runner-up last time in yielding conditions and she can shed her maiden tag this afternoon. HAY THERE MCNAIR has arguably the most scope for improvement amongst the remainder of the field. The form of his penultimate run has worked out quite nicely with three horses having come out to win since. DR MAYHEM is a battling maiden but he can run into the places.
Race 2
DR COPPER is the value bet on the card. He had plenty of followers last time out when was just beaten on this track. He could be rewarded for consistency this afternoon and looks a massive runner on paper. LITTLE ROCKET MAN placed on this track two weeks ago and looks the biggest threat to the top selection. EXCELSA looked a winner with a furlong to go last time out and may have won the race, if not for racing wide.
Race 3
MONTANA THUNDER has some consistent form before the break and looks difficult to oppose in this contest. He does not meet the strongest field this afternoon and can shed his maiden tag. ZARU finished fourth on debut and it will be intriguing to see how much the juvenile can improve against his older rivals. ROCKET ROYALE placed at long odds last time at Kempsey and can run into the places.
Race 4
COOL MISSILE showed pace on debut at Coffs Harbour which would seem to suggest that she can get across from her wide draw without using too much energy. She can keep her unbeaten record intact. SEBAGO came out on tops in a trial recently and has had a nice preparation coming into this race. REBEL LILLY may have just needed her last start and can find a swift return to form in this Class 1 Handicap.
Race 5
KOMACHI FORCE battled on bravely last time for another third place and although her track record at Taree is a slight concern, she could represent each-way value in a contest of this nature. Two of MISTER MAKER’S three wins have come on this track and he looks the biggest threat to the top selection. The New Zealand bred filly AL ME GAL was a winner under this rider last time out and has to be respected.
Race 6
MISS DEVINCI has won twice this season and it is encouraging that both of those wins were recorded in soft conditions. JUST SIZZLING has been consistent recently and enjoys racing off a decent gallop. He will likely be doing his best work in the latter stages of the race. TOBACCO has the speed to overcome his wide draw and could run into the places if he has some gas left in tank.
Race 7
This is a very open contest where some caution is advised. ST HILARY is likely to settle just off the pace and produce his run in the late stages. She performed admirably last time when finishing just in front of Lobban Hood who interestingly runs in Race 6. NASHIAN can overcome the widest draw and two of his three career wins have come on this track. NICCONI LASS will be aided by a 2kgs apprentice allowance and if repeating her latest effort at Coffs Harbour, she can run into the places.
