CARLISLE
Race 2 No1 THEME TUNE (Nap)
Trainer: Jonjo O’Neill – Jockey: Jonjo O’Neill Jr
THEME TUNE got the job done in the neatest fashion on jumps debut at Ludlow and has the quality to go on from that and defy his penalty. He faces strong opposition from the more experienced Ulverston, but can thwart that rival.
Race 3 No6 CENTRAL FLAME
Trainer: J Walton – Jockey: Conor O’Farrell
Veteran CENTRAL FLAME could still have a tune to play in this handicap chase after hinting with a near miss when last seen before Christmas that much of his old ability remains intact.
Race 5 No5 THOMAS PATRICK
Trainer: Tom Lacey – Jockey: Richard Johnson
THOMAS PATRICK is a speculative choice to turn back the clock after failing to complete on each of just three outings in more than two years. If recapturing his form from the winter of 2018 he would make short work of these rivals, and perhaps the fitting of a first time visor can assist him.
SOUTHWELL
Race 1 No1 FAUSTINOVICK (Nap)
Trainer: Colin Tizzard – Jockey: Harry Cobden
FAUSTINOVICK stands out as the one to be on in the opener which is only a nine outing under Rules for the gelding. He’s had to play second fiddle on four of those occasions including the last twice at Chepstow and Ludlow but this is easier and there can be no excuses.
Race 6 No1 CAN YOU CALL
Trainer: Evan Williams – Jockey: Adam Wedge
Having earned in each of his two starts for Williams, CAN YOU CALL now gets a first time tongue tie. The device should improve his breathing and enable him to go one better than his excellent run against Witness Protection at Chepstow, form which has worked out.
WOLVERHAMPTON
Race 5 No3 ROME IMPERIAL
Trainer: Marco Botti – Jockey: Setefano Cherchi
Siyouni filly ROME IMPERIAL looked progressive running out of a different stable in her juvenile season, climaxing her campaign with a ready triumph at Windsor. Her new trainer has his winter team in good order, and she can thwart an interesting foe in Koola Bala.
Race 6 No4 HOST (Nap)
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Thore Hammer Hansen
After a couple of near misses, HOST opened his account under tonight’s jockey with plenty to spare at this course. With his confidence on a high he can deliver as the best bet on the card.Place
