Best Bet: GANNETT PEAK (Race 6)
Value Bet: CAREERING AWAY (Race 7)

Race 4

Three 4yr old fillies could fight out the finish to this race and complete the trifecta, but MAGICAL ANGEL is taken to lead them home. She raced up with the pace and looked a possible winner before finishing fourth last time out over seven furlongs, just under two lengths behind the winner. She will have to negotiate draw nine, but she nevertheless could be the one to side with here. AKELA’S CHARM jumped awkwardly and then had her saddle slip shortly after the start which caused her to race wide, but still managed to end up in fourth place last time out over seven furlongs, just under four lengths back from the winner. She has a kinder gate two and could be the biggest danger to the top choice. CONFINED THOUGHTS hang all the way down the straight before being run out of it very late to end up in second place last time out over a mile, 2.2L adrift of the victor. She faces a wide draw thirteen, but should still be included in all bets.

Race 5

GISELLE ANNE went from jump to wire to win her maiden race by one length last time out over six furlongs at this venue when having her peak run. She faces stronger here and has drawn gate eight, but she may prove to be up to the task at hand and complete her double. ARITHMETIC is seldom far off the action and was making good late progress when ending up in fourth spot in her latest outing over seven furlongs, just under a length behind the winner. She is drawn one outside the top pick and should turn in another honest performance today. VICTORY has posted two solid last efforts, winning her maiden event last time out over this c&d by a head. She is a speedy sort who has pulled gate two and will also get 2kgs removed from her back thanks to her claiming apprentice to aid her cause.

Race 6

Today’s best bet, GANNETT PEAK has his hat-trick run after putting nearly two and a half lengths between himself and the balance of the field to win his last start over this c&d. He hit the front at the 200M mark that day and then strode away from the opposition to record a comfortable victory. He is drawn the widest of them all in gate ten, but on the plus side, he will get 3kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice. ROCKETING TO WIN finished third in his latest outing over 1108M, just over a length off the winner when returning from a lengthy 35 week break. He has drawn gate seven and if not in need of one more run, the gelding should be right up there when hey hit the line. KINSHIP took over the lead at the top of the straight before being reeled in late to finish fourth last time out over six furlongs, 2.2L behind the winner. He jumps from draw three and should be involved in the finish.

Race 7

CAREERING AWAY won his last start over eleven furlongs by making ever post a winning post and then lasting just long enough to record a short-head victory. He showed plenty of determination over the latter stages of that contest and from pole position, the day’s value bet is likely to attempt the same tactics here. WILL TO EXCEL has a wide draw twelve, but returns to a lesser center after finishing eighth last time out over nine furlongs, 7.6L back from the winner and could do better as a result. SAINT AY attracted plenty of betting support before being beaten into second place in his last outing over nine furlongs, just under a length back from the winner. He was only collared late that day and should use his early gate speed to move across from his wide gate thirteen without expending too much energy. He will be hoping to make amends today.
