RACE 1
BLAZING PARTNERS has produced fair form recently. He was only beaten 1.75L last time by In Full Bloom and on that effort alone looks a strong contender in the opening contest. He will shoulder 53kgs in this contest thanks to his claiming apprentice and represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. CIRCUIT NUMBER ONE should be cherry-ripe having his third run after a rest. He has faced stronger in his last two outings and must be respected back in Class 5. REGENCY GEM is another one who will relish the drop in class. He was only beaten 2L by Fantastic Fabio and it is encouraging that Zac Purton has kept faith in the ride.
RACE 2
FARM BUMPER is at long-odds. Wild West Wing managed to turn the tables with him last time out but he should improve with French ace Tony Piccone in the saddle. He should be cherry-ripe having his third run after a rest today and if putting his best foot forward then he has the ability to upset. SPARKLING DOLPHIN beat UNITED WE STAND by 1.3L in his penultimate run. He is 2kgs better off at the weights and should be able to finish in front of him again.
RACE 3
BREEZE OF SPRING has his first start for his new conditioner Jimmy Ting. He brings consistent form into this race and if fit and well he should be right there at the business end of affairs. He was only beaten by a neck last time out and will be looking to make amends. SUPER RED DRAGON beat the top selection in his penultimate run and then followed up well with a win. He is however, 3kgs worse off at the weights and that should be enough to reverse the result. INNO LEGEND was no match for the winner last time out. He looks fairly-handicapped though in this contest and must be included.
RACE 4
GOLDEN FOUR shoulders top weight in this contest. He looks hard to oppose on form as he has been beaten by the narrowest of margins in his last two starts. He should be cherry-ripe having his third run after a rest and can find himself in the winner’s enclosure. MIGHTY POWER has placed in all three outings this term. He has finished second in his last two outings and his second career win looks on the horizon. SO AWESOME is another one who has placed in all three outings this term. He finished right behind the selection last time and the weights suggest that there shouldn’t be too much separating the pair at the wire.
RACE 5
CHEERFUL DAYS got his career off to a positive start on this course last time out. He was only beaten 1.5L by Super Red Dragon on that occasion. He is still fairly unexposed and with the natural improvement that is expected he should take a power of beating. NAMJONG SINGS wasn’t disgraced last time out when beaten 3L by Winning Feeling. The form of his penultimate run catches the eye and if reproducing that run then he should be right there. HELAKU KNIGHT is racing well at the moment. The way he races suggests that he will enjoy the extra furlong on offer and if doing so, then he can upset.
RACE 6
SEAWEED FORTUNE followed up his comeback victory well with two decent efforts. He finished third last time over this distance when beaten by Bulletproof. He looks to be a different horse this term and on recent form must be respected. FAMILY LEADER has completed quartets in his last two outings. He will have a wide barrier to overcome but the way he races suggests that he will be mowing down the frontrunners in the dash to the wire. JIMMU finished third behind Beauty Angel (Best Bet) last time and although he is still a one-time winner he can run into the money.
RACE 7
LUCKY EXPRESS finished under a length behind the progressive Mighty Giant last time out. He will have plenty of followers and in this type of field looks a strong contender. JOLLY BANNER has finished runner-up in his last two outings. It must be noted that he performed in a Grade 3 contest in his last start. He will benefit from a 3kgs claiming apprentice and looks fairly-handicapped. BAND OF BROTHERS has finished third in his last two outings. He should be cherry-ripe having his third run after a rest and should be able to finish in the money once again.
RACE 8
SPARKLING KNIGHT is a talented sprinter. He narrowly failed in his comeback effort when beat 0.5L by Baltic Success. He won by 5L in his only start last term and he is a horse that is still clearly on the upgrade. JOYFUL FORTUNE made a smart debut effort on this course. He led throughout on that occasion and won much easier than the winning margin suggests. He is still fairly unexposed and could be absolutely anything. PING HAI BRAVO wasn’t disgraced last time out when beaten 2.75L at the wire. The form of his comeback run catches the eye and if reproducing that type of effort then he can run into the money.
RACE 9THE CROWN made a fair debut in Hong Kong. He finished 1.2L behind the progressive California Rad on that occasion and with the expected natural improvement he may be difficult to peg back in the closing stages. NOBLE STEED performs admirably with Zac Purton in the saddle. He has won two starts with the current champion jockey aboard and looks the obvious threat to the top selection. ALCARI rises in class but he shoulders just 51kgs in this contest thanks to his claiming apprentice. He was only beaten 1L at the wire last time and with some luck in running, he can run into minor money.
RACE 10
BEAUTY ANGEL goes for four wins on the trot. He is unbeaten for Joao Moreira and he will be looking to keep that record intact. The manner in which he has backed up his favourite status in his last two outings suggests that there is plenty more to come from this individual and he should take a power of beating in the lucky last race. VINCY is still looking for his first Hong Kong win. He has had 23 attempts which is a concern but he looks difficult to oppose on paper. CINQUANTE CINQ was pipped by the narrowest of margins in his comeback effort. He is drawn wide but if he can get across without using up too much energy, then he can run into the money.
